Whistler is a resort town in the province of British Columbia in southwestern Canada, located in the Southern Pacific ranges of the Coast Mountains. It hosted many of the events of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
It was first settled by Europeans in the 1860's.
Today, it is world renowned as a premium site for outdoor sports, primarily skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, luge, skeleton, and bobsledding. It is also known for the high population of British and Australian residents, its pictaresque pedestrian village, luxurious mountain resorts and spas, and for the high number of bears in the area.
