Westport is an affluent town on the southern coast of Connecticut, 47 miles northeast of New York. It is the 10th wealthiest area in the United States.

British forces commanded by William Tryon camped on the beach here in 1777, but a town was not established until 1835.

Today, Westport is known for its luxurious mansions, extravagence, and pictaresque charm.
