Gravetye Manor
West Grinstead is a small town in the county of West Sussex in southern England, located on the River Adur. It should not be confused with the entirely seperate town of East Grinstead, which is 17 miles to the northeast.

A castle was built here in the 12th Century.

Today, West Grinstead is known for its scenic English countryside charm, manor houses, castle ruins, forests, and pastoral bed and breakfast establishments.

Hilaire Belloc: Beginning around the 1930's, I often attended mass as a devout Catholic at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation here. After dying a few days before my 83rd birthday in 1953, I was buried at the same chapel.
