Wallingford is a small market town and civil parish in Oxfordshire, England. It was founded during Anglo-Saxon times, and rose to medieval prominence when Wallingford Castle, built in the 11th Century, became a royal residence. The castle fell into disrepair after the Black Plague struck, and is now in ruins.
