Veracruz in People's Lives

Jack London: I traveled here in 1914, as a reporter covering the Mexican Revolution. Ten years earlier, I had traveled to Japan to report on the Russo-Japanese War, which had not been successful, as I had gotten arrested nearly every week for one thing or another, and had gotten little chance to actually document anything. Thus, I was eager to prove myself, at last, as a war correspondant. However, this did not happen, as by the time I got to this city, there was no war. I left this city shortly afterward arriving, disappointed.

Liam NeesonI traveled here to film scenes for the movie Ruby Cairo in 1991.

Viggo Mortensen: I traveled here in 1991, to film scenes of the movie Ruby Cairo.

Walt Disney: I was sent here on a filming mission by the U.S. Government in 1941, in an effort to improve relations with South America.
