Tarquinia is a town in the region of Lazio on the coastline of western Italy.

An ancient town, it was once one of the most powerful and wealthy cities in the Estruscan Empire, as well as one of its oldest. Though the exact dates of its origin are unknown, it was recorded as being a flourishing city around 650 BC, and was probably established around the 10th Century BC.

No longer a large or eminent city, Tarquinia is now a peaceful countryside town, notable for its numerous historic points, churches, country homes, quiet beaches, and local wines.
