Stratford-upon-Avon is a town in the county of Warwickshire in central England, located on the River Avon. The town originated in Anglo-Saxon times, but was oficially made a town in 1196.
Today, Stratford-upon-Avon is best known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, making it a popular tourist destionation, as well as for its notable theater company, performing arts scene, and historic attractions.
