The State University of New York at Albany, also called the University at Albany, is a public research university in Albany, New York, one of the 13 colleges in the State University of New York, or SUNY, system. 

Founded in 1844, it is the oldest college of the SUNY universities.

It is known for its plentiful study abroad programs, emerging majors and topics of study such as globalization and biotechnology, and acclaimed honors program - which allows select students to work closely with faculty.
