St. George's is the capital city of Grenada, which is a small island country located northwest of Trinidad & Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southwest of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

The city was founded in 1650 as a French settlement.

Today, St. George's is known for its medical university, beaches, tropical island beauty, spice agriculture and exportation, underwater sculptures, diving, history, and culture.

Hunter S. Thompson: I traveled here in 1983 to cover and report on the U.S. Invasion of Grenada. However, I would not publish the article, or speak of my experiences here, until 20 years later, when I published Kingdom of Fear in 2003, which heavily compared the invasion to the September 11th attacks.
