Acueducto de Noche y tormenta
Santiago de Queretaro, often known simply as Queretaro, is a city in central Mexico.

It was founded by the Aztecs in the 14th Century, and the Spanish founded a city here in 1531. When choosing the name for the city, 33,000 participants were asked to vote on what word was the most beautiful in the Spanish language, and "Queretaro" was chosen, which in pre-Columbian terminology literally means "island of the blue salamanders."

Today, Santiago de Queretaro is known for its wealth, high quality of living, historic area, and strong economy. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico.
