Salt Lake City is the capital and largest city in the state of Utah. It was named Least-Stressed City in the United States by CNN in 2014, due to its low cost of living, high quality of life, and abundance of job opportunities. The city is well known as the capital of the Mormon faith.

Jim Bridgier was the first explorer in the area, in 1825. The city was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young, intended as the headquarters for the Latter Day Saints, or Mormon, faith. To this day, nearly 50% if the inhabitants of Salt Lake City identify themselves as Mormon.

Today, the city is primarily known for its heavy Mormon culture and influence, as well as for its rugged mountain surroundings, cathedral-esque Mormon Temple, industrial banking, skiing, and outdoor sports. It is known for having a breezy, relaxed atmosphere.
