The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is an academy and university of dance, drama, music and film in Glasgow. It was formerly known as the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. It is one of the busiest performing arts venues in Scotland, staging over 500 productions a year.
It was founded as a traditional university in 1845, seeking to compete with the University of Glasgow. It reimagined itself as an arts university in 1899.
