Rawlins in People's Lives

Viggo Mortensen: I traveled here in 1987 to film scenes of the movie Prison, which was filmed at the Old State Prison here. Many of the employees and inmates were used as extras and minor roles in the film. This combined with the solitude of the surrounding town made it quite a different filming experience. I loved the peaceful solitude of the quiet mountains, and was reminded of my childhood in Argentina.
