Port Augusta is a town in the state of South Australia on the coastline of southern Australia, on Spencer Gulf.

It was founded as a natural harbor in 1852, and thrived as a port town. It was named in honor of Augusta Sophia, the wife of Henry Young, who was at the time the Governor of South Australia.

Today, Port Augusta is known for its beautiful waterfront, natural scenery, boating, and relaxed atmosphere.
