Pittsfield City Hall
Pittsfield is a town in western Massachusetts. It is the third-largest municipality in Massachusetts, and the largest city in the famous Berkshire County.

The land was originally inhabited by the Mahican Native Americans, until they left the area in the early 18th Century due to disease and fighting brought in by European settlers. The town was founded in 1761, and was named in honor of William Pitt.

Today, Pittsfield is known for its downtown area, for its "green" environmental efforts, and for having a small town inside a city atmosphere.
