Passaic is a town in northern New Jersey. It is located on the Passaic River about 10 miles north of Newark. It was established by Dutch settlers in 1679, and was the home of the first television station to broadcast to a person's home and to air a feature full-length film in 1931, prompting residents to proudly call their town "the birthplace of television."
