Parsons School of Design, officially named Parsons the New School for Design, is an elite private art and design college located in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan in New York. It is one of the seven offshoot colleges of The New School. It was the first school in the United States to provide studies in fashion design, advertising, interior design, and graphic design. It is widely regarded as one of, or perhaps the most prestigious school for fashion in the world.

It was established in 1896 as Chase School by William Merritt Chase, who together with a band of art students was seeking to create a place for more free, dramatic, and individualistic expression in art.
