Palma del Rio is a town in the province of Cordoba in southern Spain.
It was established sometime around the 14th Century, and a monastery built in the 15th Century was the main settlement here for hundreds of years.
Today, the town is known as a small hidden gem, notable for its historic Monasterio de San Francisco - now a hotel - beautiful architecture and natural beauty, and small-town culture. In its notable orange groves, there are some trees that are over 200 years old.
