Sing Sing Prison
Ossining is a town in southern New York state, bordered by both the Hudson and the Croton Rivers. It is best known as the location of Sing Sing Prison.

The land was originally inhabited by an Algonquin tribe of Native American Indians, but the land was purchased from them by a wealthy Dutch family in 1685. The town was established in 1779, when the manor was confiscated by the government.

Today, Ossining is known for its prison, downtown area, historic mansions and manor homes, and surrounding mountains and forests.
