Newtown is a small town in southeastern Pennsylvania, close to both Trenton and Philadelphia. In 2011, Yahoo Travel ranked it as 7th in their annual list of "10 Coolest American Small Towns."

It was founded by William Penn in 1684.

Today, it is best known for its extravagent mansions and villas.

Abigail Breslin: I filmed scenes of the movie Signs here in 2001, when I was just five years old.

William Penn: I founded this town in 1684 as one of three places to surround nearby Philadelphia that was more of a country atmosphere, for those who did not wish to live in the middle of a city, and to provide sustaining farmland. Inventively, I named it "New Town."
