Nelson is a town in New Zealand, on the eastern Tasman Bay, the 12th largest city in the country.

It was established in 1841 by mainly English, as well as some German, settlers, making it the second-oldest city in New Zealand.

Today, Nelson is known for its beautiful "north meets south" scenery, which combines lush forests and mountains with golden beaches and crystal blue waters. It is also a noted New Zealand arts scene.
