Nago is a city on Okinawa Island off the mainland of eastern Japan.

It was officially founded in 1970, merging together a cluster of small villages, most of which had existed since approximately the 1600's as fishing villages.

Nago is known for its island beauty, beautiful beaches and bright blue water, as the location of a United States military base, coral reef, signature pineapple wine, snorkeling and diving attractions, castle, and conservationism.
