St. Stanislaw's Cathedral
Mogilev is the third-largest city in Belarus, located in the east of the country 47 miles from the Russian border.

It was first mentioned in history in 1267. Through history, it has been controlled by Lithuania, Poland, and Russia.

Today, it is known for its history of violence against Jews in the past, churches, history, and architecture.

Peter the Great: I commanded the Battle of Lesnaya just outside this city in 1708, in which I took the Swedish armies, reinforcements coming from Riga, by surprise. I had finally won a battle against Charles XII of Sweden, and, with his reduced numbers, dashed his plans of marching on Moscow.
