Puerto de Mazarrón1
Mazarron is a town in the province of Murcia on the southeastern coast of Spain.

It was established as a seaport in the Carthaginian Era, and soon became wealthy off trade and maritime economy. However, the city was viciously raided by pirates from about the 16th Century, prompting the inhabitants to build elaborate forts in an attempt to dissaude them. One of these forts, the Castillitos, still exists, though it is outside the city limits.

Today, Mazarron is primarily known for its seaport, waterfront downtown, tourism, and beaches.
