Malaga is a city in the province of Andalusia in southern Spain. A coastal city, it is located on the Mediterranean Sea. It is the 6th largest city in Spain, and enjoys one of the warmest winters in Europe.

Malaga was founded in 770 BC as Malaka by Phoenician settlers from Tyre. It was later a part of the Roman Empire and later passed into Arabic rule, before becoming European. With this mixed background, Malaga is culturally and historically diverse.

Today, the city is known as a beautiful gem of the Mediterranean, as well as for its architecture, Roman ruins and theater, and art. It is one of the oldest cities in the world.
