Isabella I of Castile: I was born here in April of 1451, a princess, the daughter of John II of Castile and Isabella of Portugal. At the time of my birth, I was automatically second-in-line for the throne behind my older half-brother. My younger brother Alfonso Prince of Asturias was born when I was two years old, making me third-in-line. In 1454, when I was three years old, my father died, without me ever having really known him. My half-brother Henry IV of Castile became king, and I was left in his care. He ordered my mother, Alfonso and I moved to Arevalo.
