Luckau in People's Lives

Napoleon Bonaparte: I stayed the night in this town in July of 1813, while conducting an inspection of my army. I stayed in the top storey of a house belonging to the richest man in the city, a merchant. It was a cold night, and I requested a copper warming pan to be brought to my bed. That pan is now in the museum in this town.

Ralph Fiennes: I traveled here in 2007 to film scenes of the movie The Reader.
