Kimberley is a city in central-northern South Africa, located at the confluence of the Vaal and Orange Rivers.

The city was founded in 1871 after a series of enormous diamonds were found in the area, creating a diamond rush.

Today, the city is best known as the location of the "Big Hole," an enormous diamond mine, as well as for other diamond mining ventures and businesses.
