Kamloops bc2
Kamloops is a large town in the province of British Columbia in southwestern Canada, located on the Thompson River near Kamloops Lake. It is the 37th largest metropolitan area in Canada.

The area was originally inhabited by a tribe of the Cree Native Americans. The first European contact was in 1811, when an explorer working for the Pacific Fur Company spent a winter with the Cree indians. The town was established in 1812, as "Fort Cumcloups."

Today, Kamloops is known for its location of natural beauty amidst mountains, rivers, and lakes, as well as for its glowing city lights at night, history, and events - particularly in sports.
