Jerash is a town in northwestern Jordan, located 30 miles north of Amman. It is the site of a large amount of ancient ruins.

It was founded in 2000 B.C. as a Greek settlement.

Today, Jerash is best known for its abundance of well-preserved ancient ruins, as well as for its tourism, archaeology, surrounding valleys and farmlands, and culture.
