Hobart is the capital and largest city of the Australian island-state of Tasmania. It is the largest southern-most city in Australia.

It was founded as British penal colony in 1803, and was named in honor of Robert Hobart, 4th Earl of Buckinghamshire.

Today, the city is known as the center of business, economy, and commerce within Tasmania, as well as for its maritime industry, boating events, mountains, and as a portal to Antarctica.
