Hilo Bay
Hilo is a town on the island of Hawai'i, overlooking Hilo Bay, in southeastern Hawaii. 

The land has been inhabited since about 1100 AD, and European settlement began around 1820.

Today, Hilo is known for its both active and extinct volcanoes, beautiful natural scenery, sunrises, beaches, bayfront, waterfalls, and education.

Hilo in People's Lives

Jack London: I visited here in 1915 with my wife, Charmian Kittredge. This trip was to be the last of my many trips to Hawaii, the land that I had fallen in love with, before my death the following year.
