Hartford, Connecticut-DowntownHartford
Hartford is the capitol city of Connecticut and the fourth largest in the state. It is nicknamed "Insurance Capitol of the World" for the numerous insurance corporations there.

The city was established by English settlers in 1635, and named after Hertford, Hertfordshire, England.

Following the Civil War, Hartford was the wealthiest city in the U.S. for 30 years.
