Hafnarfjordur is a town on the southwestern coastline of Iceland, about 6 miles south of Reykjavik. It is the third-largest city in Iceland.

Hafnarfjordur, whose name means "harbor fjord," was settled in the 14th Century and has Viking heritage.

Today, it is known for its quiet surrounding countryside contrasted with its busier downtown area, and for sightings of the Northern Lights.
