Guilin is a city in the region of Guangxi in southeastern China. It is located on the Li River and borders Hunan. Its name means "Forest of Sweet Osmanthus." 

It was established in 314 BC as a tiny fishing village.

Today, Guilin is recognized as one of the most beautiful places in China, and is a popular tourist destination for Asian inhabitants. It is known for its riverfront, karst topography, natural beauty, fishing, tropic climate, caves, and temples.
