Guangzhou, also known in the Western world as Canton, is the capital and largest city in the province of Guangdong in southeastern China. It is the third-largest city in China. 

Guangzhou was first settled around 210 BC, then named Panyu. By the early Middle Ages, Guangzhou had grown to an important and wealthy city.

Today, it is known for its skyscrapers and city skyline, quality of life, luxurious and wealthy lifestyle, shopping, expensive hotels, rich history, economy, and for being surrounded by the river and mountains.
