Ivy on Hotel Hohenstaufen
Goppingen is a town in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg in southern Germany, located in a valley of the Fils River, at the base of Hohenstaufen Mountain.

It was founded by the Alemmani tribe around the 3rd Century. A large fire in 1782 destroyed most of the town, but the inhabitants immediately set to rebuilding it. The spread of industrialisation in the 19th Century brough prosperity and growth to the town.

Today, Goppingen is known for its nearby mountain, as the headquarters of the large Marklin toy company, and Jewish heritage.
