Fordham University is a private, nonprofit research university located in New York City. Its main campus is located in The Bronx, though it also has another small campus in Manhattan, and one in West Harrison. It also has study-abroad centers in the United Kingdom, Spain, and South Africa. 

It was founded as Catholic university, then called St. John's College, in 1841, by John Hughes. It maintains a Catholic influence today.
