Durham nc march 2013 01
Durham is a city in central-northern North Carolina, on the Eno River. It is the 5th largest city in its state. Durham is closely located to the cities of Raleigh and Chapel Hill, and has close ties with them. Some consider all three to have already merged into one city, and refer to this area as Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill.

Prior to European settlement, Sioux Indian tribes lived on the land here. The town was established in the mid 1700's.

Today, Durham is known for its universities, particularly Duke University, as well as for its medical research and signature bull statues.
