Daegu, formerly spelled Taegu, is the fourth-largest city in South Korea and the third-largest metropolitan area in South Korea.

The city was founded in approximately the 13th Century, though there is evidence of civilization existing on the site since the prehistoric era. From the 1960's through the 1980's, Daegu was the propellor for Korea's economy, and the most wealthy city in the country.

Today, Daegu is known for its exportation business, apples, textile industry, large size, city skyline, metropolitan atmosphere, its rising fashion scene, technology, surrounding mountains, shopping, flowering white trees, festivals, gardens, and culture.
