Cuddalore is a town in southern India. Though its history is murky, Cuddalore has been a seaport town since ancient times, and was prominent during the Middle Ages. In the 1600's, the town was occupied by the French and English for trading.

Cuddalore is known for being impacted by the Indian Ocean Earthquake in 2004, for its many casually beautiful beaches, and confusing transportation systems.
