Cranston in People's Lives

Olivia Culpo: I was born here in 1992, the middle daughter in a very musical family with mixed Italian heritage. My parents had both, at one point, been professional musicians. Following in their footsteps, I began playing the cello in 2nd grade. I grew up here, attended Catholic middle school in nearby East Providence, and was always a good student. I graduated my middle school in 2010 with high honors and a member on the National Honor Society. I attended high school here, studying music and Italian. I began competing in beauty competitions here in 2011, and was named Miss Rhode Island 2012 in this town. After I won the Miss Universe competition in 2012, a street here was named after me. I still visit my family in this town often.
