Chimaltenango is a town in southwestern Guatemala, located about 35 miles from Guatemala City.
It was formerly a Mayan city named "B'oko," founded around 1300, until it was conquered by Spanish conquistadors in the 1520's.
Today, the town is recognized for its history, indiginous culture, church, mountain elevation, and outdoor markets.
