Cheadle is a small town considered a suburb outside of Manchester, in Cheshire, England.

It was used as a burial mound in the Iron Age, and was settled by the Romans in the 1st Century.

Agatha Christie: I often came to stay here, at Abney Hall, my brother-in-law's grand estate, mainly during the 1930's and 1940's. I adored the enormous house with its servants and country extravagence, and it was the inspiration for nearly all of the estates that feature in my writings.
