Cardigan high street
Cardigan is a town in the county of Ceredigion in southwestern Wales. It lies on the River Teifi and on the border between the English county of Pembrokeshire.

Settlement began when an English castle was built in 1093. Cardigan officially became a town in 1199, and flourished as a trading and market center.

Today, Cardigan is known for its blend of traditional Welsh and English culture, river sports, for its efforts to retain its Welsh language, and its history.
