Burlington is the largest city in the state of Vermont, located 45 miles south of the Canadian border and 94 miles south of Montreal.
The land was granted to settlers by Benning Wentworth, the Governor of New Hampshire, in 1763. Settlement only began in the summer of 1775, however.
Today, Burlington is known for its universities, quaint college town charm, pictaresque downtown area and pedestrian streets, proximity to Canada, and historic landmark buildings.
