Burghausen is a town in the state of Bavaria in southern Germany, located close to the border of Austria on the Salzach River. Its castle, Burghausen Castle, is the longest castle in Europe.

While a date of foundation in uncertain, excavations have revealed that there were Bronze Age, early Celtic, and Roman settlements here. It was first mentioned in history in 1025.

Today, Burghausen is known for its pictaresque town views curving along the riverfront, castle, and history.
