Brockton is a city in eastern Massachusetts, located 23 miles northwest of Plymouth. It is the 7th largest city in Massachusetts, and sometimes nicknamed "City of Champions." With an average wind speed of 14 miles per hour, Brockton is one of the windiest cities in the United States.

In 1649, the land of this town was sold by the Massasoit Indians to Miles Standish. It was settled soon afterward, and then named "Bridgewater." It was renamed in 1874 in honor of Isaac Brock. During the Civil War, this city was America's largest producer of shoes, and one of the largest producers of leather goods.

Today, it is known for its downtown area, baseball, and quality of life.
