Coity Castle
Bridgend is a town in the county of Mid Glamorgan in southern Wales. It is located on both the River Ogmore and the River Ewenny, and is 18 miles west of Cardiff and 20 miles east of Swansea

Civilization began a little before the Romans inhabited the area around 50 AD. Coity Castle was established here in the 9th Century.

Today, Bridgend is known for its riverfronts, history, castle ruins, renovations, and population growth.

Ian Watkins: I was imprisoned here, at HM Prison Parc, from 2012 - 2013, while undergoing my trial. I was transferred to another prison in Wakefield, England after my sentence began.
