Bray is a town in County Wicklow on the eastern coastline of Ireland. It is the ninth-largest urban area in Ireland, and is located 12 miles south of Dublin

It began as a medieval settlement at the edge of a small region called the Pale, which was land controlled by nearby Dublin Castle. Its first mention in history only arrived in 1598, however, when it was included on a map as "Brey." After the introduction of the railroad in 1834, Bray swiftly grew into one of Ireland's largest and most prosperous seaside resorts, a reputation that it still retains.

Today, Bray is known as a vacation destination, and for its beaches, seaside homes, hilly landscape, and shopping.
